I'm excited that this gets to be my first post to this blog. While this is my photo site, and photography is the central theme, I love the story that goes along with a photo, and this is all about the story.
We attend church at this awesome place called Centerpointe Christian Church. The kids all take part in the Sunday School, which is really a series of small groups, with kids that they will continue with through the years. Our church has been partnering with a group in Ghana, Africa that helps get women out of sexual slavery among a number of other things.
In their small groups, the kids were challenged to spread a little love, by donating/ fundraising to help build a playground for this mission in Ghana. On the way home from church our kids were talking about it and really liked the idea of a lemonade stand.
My wife jumped right in and encouraged their creativity and began to go into planning mode. She thought Sharonville Depot Square would make sense because it would be way more traffic than in front of our house. Of course that's public property so there might be an issue. Luckily, we know the Mayor so she was texting in the van on the home to see what permission was required.
The approval came today and the kids were so excited. My wife made a trip to the store for some poster board, lemonade mix and hot chocolate. The kids got to work on making some signs. I'm so happy to see them so excited to do something to help someone else.
So, if you find yourself anywhere near Depot Square in Sharonville on March, 27th from 11am to 1pm save a little room for some lemonade or hot chocolate. Your drink will help to build a playground half way around the world! LOVE DOES!

PLAYGROUNDS FOR GHANA
So, this post definitely deserves an update. As you can see from the picture above, the kids did great even in the midst of a day that was cold and a little rainy they managed to raise $93! Today they got to give their money at church. Together with all the other kids they managed to go over their target of $500. Their combined money is already enough for the playground they were trying to fund. Even at their age, they are showing you can do something to help make the world a better place and spread LOVE.
